Dell Inspiron 1545 Processor Upgrade
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop that has a Dual Core T4200 2 Ghz processor.
The issue I have is that when I watch BBC iPlayer, after about 15 minutes the fan makes a loud noise. I guess this is because of the processing power it requires to play HD video. I was wondering, if I upgrade the processor would it alleviate this problem? Based on what I've read, the highest processor this laptop can be upgraded to is about 3 Ghz.
Also, would I need to dismantle the entire laptop to upgrade the processor or does it just require opening the access panel under the laptop?
Thanks for any advice.

It would be a waste of money to replace anything on a 9 yr old computer. You cannot upgrade the processor on a most laptops anyway. The cpu is soldered on the board and cannot be removed. Put the money towards a new computer.

Thanks for your advice. However, I've seen YouTube videos that show the processor being upgraded on a Dell Inspiron 1545 so it seems the processor isn't soldered on the board.
