Dell Inspiron 5515 LCD Hinge broken
I have reached out to customer support who says this is not covered under warranty. The plastic hinge broke on the laptop here. Is that the only part I might have to replace to get the hinge working correctly again? The bezel is starting to separate on that side when the rest of the hinge doesn't open the right way.

You will need to at least partially disassemble the system to see exactly what's broken. Chances are you need the palmrest-keyboard-touchpad assembly (at least this part).
Service manual:

I've tried reaching out to Dell a few times in a few different ways but the people I've chatted and spoken with have not been that helpful.
I opened up the laptop and the hinge cover looks to be the only thing broken. Hinge itself looks fine but the screen bezel does separate when opening and closing.

The hinge has pulled out of its mount -- it's not clear whether that's from the base assembly (palmrest) or inside the display itself, but look a bit deeper -- you're going to find a broken hinge mount.

I think it's plastic and the display is fine, maybe a dead pixel near the bottom.

I gave up on repairing mine and will likely sell it as is.

@willshieh. I am having the exact same problem as you. May I ask how you fixed it? did any part need replacement?

For what it's worth, I drilled the broken off screw insert locations clear through the back of the case and installed these binding posts/threaded rivets:

Total cost of repair: $1.51 including tax. Plus I have seven extra sets left over. Just be careful to not get any metal pieces from the drilling into the laptop. I did this by drilling very small starter holes from the inside to precisely locate the holes, then slowly widened them from the outside while continuously clearing away the metal fragments.
This was the result from the outside:

Hello,
My laptop is exactly the same model, under 2 years old, and the casing/hinges are literally falling apart
