DELL INSPIRON BRIGHTNESS ISSUE
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron with an i5 processor and Graphics card of nividia MX230 10thGen. It has a 15.6" screen and its model is 5000series My problem is that the computer automatically adjusts the screen brightness based on what images are being displayed on the screen. (This happens only when the laptop is running on battery, when it's plugged in there's no problem) For instance when I open up a word document the screen becomes very bright because of the white background it is displaying but when the screen displays a darker image like a webpage with a black background the screen brightness noticeably dims. At first I just assumed this was some graphics or power saving setting. I checked both the Intel Hd Settings menu and the power savings menu but I couldn't find any options that corresponded to this description. Is there some well hidden setting causing this, is my laptop screen deffective, or is this just the way the laptop is? I need to know. It's driving me nuts.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Anas Shekha
To better assist you, the members and I would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???
Identify your Dell:

Solution
1.Go to Device manager [In the Control panel/Devices & Printers]
2.Double-click the display adapters [it shows your Intel HD Graphics..Also a dedicated GPU like Nvidia if your system have a Graphic Card]
3.Double click "Intel HD Graphics" [Properties Window will open]
4.Select the Driver Tab & Click on Update Driver
5.Following Window shows 2 options-Search automatically for Driver updates & browse the computer.Click on Search Automatically option. You must be connected to Internet while doing this.
6.If the result of search shows a driver update, wait for it finish & restart. If it shows the current driver is uptodate, then reinstall the driver to solve the issue

I have a 5593. Dimming was a pain until I discovered a BIOS setting "EcoPower" under the Video section. Even if the BIOS says 100% brightness on battery, until you disable Eco Power" nothing you do within the O/S or Intel control panels or whatever hocus pocus is advised in misc posts, this is the setting that screws you up.
