Dell Precision 5510 cannot downgrade bios

Hello,

I have a Dell Precision 5510 on Linux.

My BIOS was in 1.4 and computer work fine. Since I update my BIOS to the last version 1.14.2 I have some problems:
- At start I have  this message: "(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed" (but computer can start).

- After lid closed when I reopen I have this message: "Boot Guard verfied DXE that is fail", so I need to reboot

So I try to downgrade BIOS to 1.4 but I have this screen, so I cannot select the file to downgrade:

Thank for your help

If the test screens were clear of the fault you showed in your image, the good news is that the screen is OK.

The bad news is that given the other symptom, the GPU is highly suspect and in addition to the BIOS issues, suggests that the only way out of this is to replace the system board.  The only way you'll get that BIOS flashed correctly is to replace the chip with one flashed in an EEPROM writer -- for that you're probably looking at $200-300 with a shop that can do the work.  And then there's no guarantee your GPU isn't failing as well.

The bottom line:  replace the system board.  It'll be expensive but is the surest solution and likely will wind up costing less than a repair with an uncertain outcome.

See if you can get a screen diagnostic to run - hold D through powerup.  Are the test screens OK?

Generally that boot guard error means the BIOS chip either has failed or is corrupted - the only real fix is either to replace the chip with a freshly flashed new BIOS chip -- the other option being to replace the system board.

Thank for reply.

After press D at start, I have screen in different colors (red, green, white etc ...) and after it boot, I have no messages.

How can I flash the bios ? because when I select F12 -> BIOS Flash update I have the screen post above, so I cannot select a file on my USB.
