Post the full model number.  Too many different Dell models.

Some are tight and may take a little force.  It was that way on my Inspiron 15 gaming 5577 model to get the back off.  I just repaired a HP laptop for a client and it too had screws and snap fit on the back and front.

If you have a recent model, it should be fairly easy. I ran my fingernail through and it was enough to disengage the retaining clips. A old credit card or a guitar pick also helps.

Start right below the right mouse button of the touchpad and work your way up the sides. Once you have the bottom and sides fully separated, carefully work around the corners by the screen. Once they are separated, carefully pull the bottom cover away towards the rear of the computer and gently flex it to disengage the remaining clips.

Just for future reference, I'll mention here how I did get the cover off.

I gently pulled the back of the computer up as far as I could, causing some of the inside to become exposed (focusing on the side opposite from the optical drive). I then wedged the plastic scribe into the exposed crevasse on this same side and pushed like a lever until the front corner popped off.
