Display stopped working after display driver update
Inspiron 5570
I have a Dell Inspiron 5570 that is out of warranty. I recently installed a fresh windows 10 and it is working fine. After I install the display driver from Dell support, the display just turn off like it is disconnected. Connect an external monitor to HDMI and it works fine but it is only detecting the external monitor.
Restart to safe mode and the built-in display is working. I did the common steps like draining the residual power after removing the battery and even reinstall a fresh download of windows 10 from microsoft and still ended up the same after installing the intel graphics uhd 620 driver.
All diagnostics states everything is okay.

Re-install Windows 10. You'll want version 21H2.
Then connect the laptop to your router with Ethernet cable, and do Check for Updates to get all the Windows 10 updates.

Thanks, maybe my explaination wasn't clear about installing a fresh download of windows 10. I installed the latest version of Windows 10 version 21H2 build 19044.1889. As soon as it updated the display adapter driver to Intel UHD Graphics 620, the laptop display goes black like being disconnected. The display works fine on safe mode and generic microsoft display driver but not with the actual intel graphics driver for i7-8550U.
I hope this cleared what I already tried to do to resolve the issue. Thanks.

Hi,
Just to let you know that I had a similar problem: after a video driver update yesterday my hdmi port stopped working. I contacted Dell support this morning who told me to download the same driver again and install it manually. The problem with the hdmi port is now fixed - I can use external my monitor again
I hope this helps - I don't know why re-installing the same driver fixed the issue, but it worked in my case. My pc is a Inspiron 3505 with AMD Radeon graphics.
