Earphones stopped working
Earphones don't work today but worked fine yesterday when on a zoom call. Earphones work when plugged in my mobile phone but do not work when plugged into my Dell Inspiron 14 7000 2-in-1 laptop computer. Can you help?

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

This is a persistent plague for Dell products of any series. I have had and still have an XPS (I do not specify the model because it is irrelevant): every once in a while, after an update SUGGESTED or REQUIRED by Dell, plugged earphones stop working as they are supposed to do.
In my case, all of a sudden, when I plug the earphones, the system detects the event, but the sounds are not played. I need to go to Settings, Sound, then Choose "Headphones". Almost every time, but not all the times: sometimes I need to uninstall and reinstall all the audio-related driverss.
Are there any solutions to just fix this annoying issue? Detecting a jack-in event should not be that complicated when humankind has started producing Quantum computers. I could understand problems with bluetooth, but here we are speaking of earphones with a CABLE!!!
