There is no firmware control of the GPU in this model -- if it has only an Intel GPU, that's all it has, and if it has a hybrid Intel-nVidia GPU, it's software controlled -- the Intel GPU is wired to the display panel, and the nVidia GPU is called into use by software. There's no hardware path from the nVidia GPU to the display panel -- it's a muxless, software-run system.
