Firmware update failed

I have an Inspiron 15 5565 and after last Windows update my home screen started to glitch changing the size of the taskbar icons annoyingly ever 1 second and messing with the touchscreen, creating randomly ghost touchs everywhere over the screen.

First I performed a reset without saving any files since I had my personal files in an external drive. Did not solve the problem and returned with a new problem: one device was not recognized by Windows.

All the checks and updates suggested by Dell support software were implemented and duly rebooted and the last one was to update the bios firmware.

It got stuck on 13% for more than 6 hours and now does not turn on anymore. It turns the LEDs, fan working at max but nothing happens and black screen.

Did it get bricked for good? Thanks for all help in advance

Sounds like it was hardware related rather than a Windows update. The touchscreen could have been failing or something hardware related to the touchscreen wasn't working correctly and causing the phantom taps.

Never ever interrupt a firmware/BIOS update, but seeing that it was stuck at 13% for hours, something definitely wasn't right as a firmware update shouldn't take more than a few minutes. If the touchscreen was at fault as previously mentioned, it's possible that it could have hung up the BIOS update. It definitely sounds like it's corrupt.

On the BIOS download page for the Inspiron 15 5565, there's a BIOS Recovery Image File that you can download to recover a corrupt BIOS, but I don't see any instructions on how to use it. My guess is that you save the file on an empty flash drive, insert it into your Inspiron, turn it on and it will attempt to recover the BIOS from the flash drive.

I really appreciated your attention and I tried to do something else, but now when I turn on the laptop, the LED turns on, the fan turns on but absolutely nothing is shown on screen.

I tried with the DOS bootable (with the BIOS recovery in it) plugged in and even in different USB ports.I Itried without it but nothing happened too...

I gave up, time for a new one.

Again, thank you very much for your help.
