G15 5511 Battery issue
Dell G15 5511
I will try to keep it short:
- When plugged in, the charging LED indicator is on
- Battery charging is stuck at 50%
- Bios says battery is "Healthy"
- Once the charging cable is unplugged, laptop dies instantly
- Laptop doesn't turn on when unplugged
Any ideas? Is it a dead battery after 14 months of use?

Problem solved.
I removed the bottom cover to look at things and noticed the battery cable had slided like 2 milimeters out of its slot, and that was the cause of the problem. Unfortunately, it doesnt sit tight in the slot (no locks either) so it would probably slide again after some time carrying it around.
I solved that with just a small drop of hot glue, so the cable is now secured in place. If I ever want to remove the cable, I can pull the glue out with my fingernails.
Thanks for the tips.

1. Test the battery:
Open an Administrator CMD prompt (CMD, run as Administrator).
Paste this command, and then press Enter:
powercfg /batteryreport
That will show a figure for the designed battery capacity (when new) and the current ("full charge") capacity. If the battery's capacity is low compared to its original capacity, then it is nearing end of life.
2. Hold or repeatedly tap F2 when you boot, to enter BIOS. See if your AC adapter is correctly identified.
If the AC adapter is not identified in BIOS, then it likely will not charge any battery.

Charger is detected correctly.
Looking at the powercfg report, it looks like the issue started yesterday. I suspected it had something to do with the BIOS update I did today, but it is not.
Moreover, capacity is alright, very close to the designed capacity, as I suspected it would be since I don't really rely on the battery that often.

It looks as though the battery has one or more weak or dead cells. Has the system been run on AC power all (or most) of the time since it was new?

My laptop's battery and cable has been replaced 3 times under premium warranty but still its health has reduced to 89% within 4 days.
