If the 6000 refers to Inspiron 6000 -- a system from 2005 -- then you'll find the pickings for SSDs very, very slim. This system used a parallel ATA hard drive, not the later SATA. While there were/are some parallel ATA SSDs, they were very rare -- and will severely limit your capacity choices (and likely cost more than the system is worth) as a result.
