I can't install critical updates

Getting help with this seems to be quite the problem in itself. I am having trouble installing critical updates on my G7 7790. As shown in the pictures below my SupportAssist tells me there are updates for my computer. I click Update and I am prompted with 3 critical and 2 recommended updates. It doesn't matter if I select all, just the critical or recommended, or even a single update, I always get an "unexpected error" as a result. Tried restarting computer, rescanning etc. to no avail.

I am then constantly reminded that I no longer have any hardware service plan. Surely, not paying extra for warranty (as it is covered by my normal home insurance) isn't blocking me from updating drivers? And if so, wouldn't that make more sense to say than "unexpected error"?

I am relying on people here to help me as my only formal support option for my product is dialing a paid phone number, which seems ridiculous since Dell can't even specify what the error is and find it "unexpected".

So, I got the reply above from Dell asking me to send a PM. I did and was asked to give them my Service Tag, which I then did. The next response from Dell was then that my warranty had expired and they suggested I instead call their phone support and pay for further help.

What I ended up doing was using the automatic firmware updater from Dell's website - it detected the same missing drivers as the SupportAssist application, only it was able to install them.

So, opening SupportAssist after that, everything is now up to date. It even found another update just now, and it was able to install that too!

Seems like a minor hiccup, let's hope it works from now on!

There is a new version of SupportAssist available, so one suggestion is to remove SupportAssist from your computer.  There may be several versions running, so you will need to remove those as well.  Sometimes a third party software removal tool is helpful to get them all.  Then reinstall SA.

If that's too much trouble you could choose to ignore the popup.

There is a SupportAssist Forum board with Dell team members there who may be able to assist further.

I found a solution, but I will look into updating the client anyways. Thank you!
