I want to get my OS back

Greetings!

Well I used the OS recovery tool of Dell but it says that "No OS images found for the tag. Though images exist for the product".

So why is that all Dell laptops have OS of Windows in them right?

SO guys help me I purchased this laptop Inspirion 5567 so its really expensive and I even payed extra for getting windows.   so if I don't get original OS I am really sad...

And I even talked with Microsoft they said that    "Please be advised that Though Microsoft is the one who produces the key itself; the moment Keys are being tagged under a particular manufacturer, the OEM restricts its possession and Microsoft loses its rights on that Key which is why no tools and steps can allow as to get the Product Key. It's the manufacturer's responsibility to have the list or copy of your Windows key as they are the ones who are installing it on a specific device. Please inform them that Microsoft already assisted you with retrieving your Windows key and since it's pre-installed on your device, they do have the capability to override or get the copy of your Windows in order for you to activate Windows. Please ask them to provide the copy of your key. We do not have the capability to produce product keys. Also, Windows is pre-installed on your device, meaning the manufacturer is the only one who has the capability to retrieve it or to override the key for you."

The system did not ship with Windows, so Dell cannot provide it.  And OEM licenses require the product key that's embedded on the board when the system is shipped with Windows, so that won't help, either.

You need to purchase a license for Windows.  If you're looking for a free OS to use, there are any number of variants of Linux that are completely free of charge.  Windows however, is not.

The license key is embedded in the system board - you can install a Microsoft-obtained copy of Windows 10 on the system and it will activate using the key embedded on the system board.

You can get the ISO and media creation tool here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

If Windows won't activate, was the system purchased from Dell, or a Dell authorized reseller in the US, or from a third party reseller - perhaps outside the US?

Since you do not say, I will ask.  On a new Win 10 system you have the option to create a Win 10 recovery drive.  That drive will put your system back to factory specs.  The Windows 10 image is created during the process and put on the Recovery drive.

Go back to the seller and ask them why there is no embedded license key for Windows.

March 15th, 2018 17:00

Well there is nothing like that happened and no process to do it. As only thing it is needed is the activation key outerwise I see no way to active windows.

March 15th, 2018 17:00

Well I tried that process but it won't active itself it wants the product key. I purchased my laptop from a reseller its website is this one: https://ryanscomputers.com/laptop-notebook.html

OK, one, maybe two, more questions..

If you go to settings-updates-activation, what does it say near the top of the page.  Has Windows been activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account?

Have you signed into your install with a Microsoft account?

A system should activate as long as you are online.  So it should at least mention a digital license....

Is Activation your primary problem?

If you install Win 10 and it asks for a License Key and the system has been activated prior, just skip that page.

It shows that windows it not activated, if I click on activate it asks for key. And is it possible that anyone can give their Recovery Image Windows or OEM Windows to me so that I can use it if it is possible?

You can use a utility like RW Everything to retrieve the license key stored in the ACPI BIOS table:

http://rweverything.com/download/

If the key isn't there, see above -- contact the seller to find out why.  Chances are it shipped to them from Dell without a license key.

The currency code for Taka is BDT, and the currency symbol is Tk.

This is not the free windows keys for Bangladesh forum.

The site you reference DOES NOT SELL WITH WINDOWS 10 they CLEARLY STATE

Operating System

Free-Dos

.

https://ryanscomputers.com/dell-inspiron-15-5567-intel-core-i3-15-6-inch-black-notebook-4909.html

If there is no COA key then you may need to check for the Key in Bios.

Windows 10 will install without a key and then activate based on the Key in Bios or on the COA.  But you have to go online at least every 180 days to keep it active.

https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/2577-showkeyplus.html

Its not even clear that you own a Legitimate Dell. More like a Knockoff.

The service Tag would show configuration and other specs.

Operating System for the DELL Inspiron 15 5567 is
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 Pro

Which means that a Legit Windows 10 DVD from anywhere should reinstall without a key IF IT HAD one from DELL.

You cannot Activate unless you get ONLINE and touch microsoft at least one time.

There are no more permanent Offline Activations.

Processor Options:
7th generation Intel Celeron
7th generation Intel Pentium
6th generation Intel Core i3
7th generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7

Dell does not Export to Bangladesh.   Free dos means you NEVER HAD legit windows.  The referenced site is not an authorized Dell Reseller.

It is expressly forbidden to export DELL US Laptops with windows.

The U.S. export regulations restrict imports and exports to international destinations without a U.S. Government authorization (called "license").

http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/vn/import-export/

You do not have "rights" from the U.S. in Bangladesh.

Note here is the difference in price including Windows makes. Without Microsoft’s operating system the final laptop price is $250 less.   The n Series is a Dell product line that does not ship with a pre-installed version of Microsoft Windows. DELL does not ship computers without an operating system Dell instead ships these systems with the FREE DOS operating system. This has been the case since 2002.

This is not the Free windows 10 for Bangladesh forum.

So now the only way to get Windows in my laptop is to purchase it? Because my laptop didn't come with Windows installed on it so now Dell has nothing to do with my laptop nor they can give me free windows with license right?

Well if that's the case then, Windows is quite expensive so is there any way to use windows freely. And I have asked earlier that if anyone could give me an OEM of their laptop windows so that I can use it, anyone?

March 16th, 2018 10:00

So what does that free-DOS means as you saw it from my reseller's website? And I used that tool of ShowKeyPlus was in my laptop it says at OEM Key section that "OEM key not present in firmware".

So I don't know how come my Laptop got shipped from Dell US to Bangladesh without an OS? Whats with Dell then about this matter? And as a consumer I have rights to get OS right? As I didn't purchase this laptop from the sky with free money!!!

And if anyone needs my service tag for confirmation of anything you can simply ask me.
