INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE after reset

I'm getting an issue:

I reset and update my DELL Inspiron 7400.

> I used SupportAssist OS Recovery (inbuilt) to do so and selected Reset & Update option(recommended).

> After reset and update's 3rd process(I don't remember that step) it asked me to restart...I restart and it now says:

Your PC ran into a problem. We will restart for you.

Stop code: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Please help me. I bought my laptop, DELL Inspiron 7400 - Core i7(11Gen) 14",  for Rs. 1,28,000 (Around $1760)

That error is commonly caused when there's a mismatch between the AHCI/RAID mode set in the BIOS and what the installed OS is expecting.  So if you're in AHCI, try switching to RAID, or vice versa.

This solution fixed my issue.  Selecting "Restore to Factory Settings"  instead of "Reset and Update" may prevent this issue.

As 7 Plutonium says above, my problem was that the laptop decided to try and boot from RAID instead of NVMe. . . switched to NVMe and it booted up fine. How that managed to get changed with a Windows based system reset - I could not tell you.

NOTE: Please make certain to un-encrypt your storage drive before reloading the operating system if you are running Win PRO.
