Inspiron 15 5578 2-in-1, Fuzzy/Blurry screen

Hi All -

After about 1-1.5 hours of working (especially when doing zoom calls) my Inspiron 15 laptop screen goes like this:

IMG_3437 (1).jpg

- When I restart or even just go to full sleep mode, it returns to normal - however, this is not a viable option when on a zoom call as I have to leave and come back
- I ran all the hardware and software tests dell recommends and no problems were reported
- I updated BIOS, drivers, windows, etc
- Works fine with external monitor (also not a great option for me now and looking for a real fix) - even when screen is blurry so prob not the gpu?

Update June 3 = I think I kind of solved it! After playing with lots of different settings, I changed the screen refresh rate on the monitor from 60Hz to 48Hz and the problem went away. Not sure why this fixed it or if there is a way to go back to 60Hz without this happening again. Any thoughts?

1. Adjust the screen resolution to a suitable size
2. Check whether the screen cable is intact
3. Check whether the graphics card driver is installed correctly
4. The usual display blur is not related to the graphics card, only the situation below is related to the graphics card

if you have a low screen resolution setting the text will be blurry.  Set it to a high or relatively high screen resolution and see if that helps.

Driver updates must come from Dell. If you installed the original manufacturer's drivers like amd or intel, reinstall the original Dell drivers at Dell Support. Laptop driver are customized by Dell for your exact model and rarely if ever get updated since the hardware doesn't change. Any updates have to come from Dell.

Hello,

Do you still have the same issue if you clear your services out?

Disable any BIOMETRIC logins before you do this.

1. Windows key + X key. And select Run.

2. Type msconfig in the Run box and hit Enter.

3. On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click disable all.

4. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.

5. On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click disable.

6. Close Task Manager.

7. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.
