Inspiron 15 7567, adding ram issue

Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567

Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567

Hello everybody,

I bought 8 new gb of ram, installed them, and this is what happens...

Video

the rams are identical

and the manual says that the notebook can support up to 32...

I tested the ram one at a time and both work...

What can it be?

For starters remove both the sticks of RAM and boot the laptop. You should get a beep as the BIOS detects no RAM installed. Then try a reset by disconnecting the battery and adapter. Then press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again. If that does not help and the RAM modules both work if only using 1 at a time to test then it could be a SODIMM slot problem on the motherboard. You can also try disconnecting the CMOS battery, the instructions are here, and leave it disconnected for 15 minutes. Then reconnect the battery and try to boot again. Of course it is also possible that even though the RAM modules are identical, there is an incompatibility issue when both are installed.

I tried, but nothing changed, without ram it's like with two rams, the start button gives a little light and then nothing...

I also tried with only one ram on a different slot and it works...

Really weird...any ideas?

Hello,

Install both ram sticks as you normally would but since they are not working as expected try a "diagnostic boot" with the laptop powered off hold down fn and press the power button this should take you to ePSA which hopefully gives you a more detailed error then the blinking power button.

Sorry for the delay... I'm moving...

the diagnostic boot won't even start with the two ram inserted...

it's really absurd...
