Inspiron 15 7577 Performance problems/overheating
Hi everybody,
I've been dealing with performance problems for months, especially when I'm playing. This also happens with rather not hardware-heavy games like Fifa 20, WoW or Leauge of Legends.
I noticed that my CPU and GPU get extremely hot (up to 90 degrees). I notice this through the program "ThrottleStop", SpeedFan as well as an extremely hot surface (especially on the upper row of the keyboard and above). It seems as if the processor is throttling the power extremely to reduce the heat again. And this causes the FPS drops and performance drops, which makes gaming partially impossible.
What have I already tried (was already too much, don't remember everything *gg*):
- Using "SpeedFan" fan set to 100%
- Disabled in BIOS "Intel Turbo Boost" (I don't want my processor to run even faster)
- Using "ThrottleStop" undervolted my laptop after a tutorial https://www.ultrabookreview.com/31385-the-throttlestop-guide/ . If someone has a working configuration especially for the Inspiron 7577, please give it to me
- In the power options under processor power management set the minimum and maximum power state of the processor to min 94% and max 96% (should be enough for the games and I hoped that the processor produces less power --> less heat). Also set the system cooling policy to active (increase fan speed before throttling down performance).
Furthermore, I have already bought a new heat-conducting paste, but I haven't applied it yet, as I haven't dared to disassemble my laptop yet... But maybe this is the last possibility.
Does anybody have any tips/similar problems?

Any Solutions at all? My warranty expired on March 10, 2019.
I been checking this thread as I have the exact same problem but no one has seemed to notice it. So, it's been a while now and I thought I might ask.

Check Youtube - they explain how to use Throttle Stop to Undervolt. I followed instructions, take your time, it works.
I have my 7577 undervolted to -.135mV max temp typically around 80C playing Modern Warfare or PUBG. No power limits hit. I also use MSI Afterburner to tune the 1060GTX. Plenty of videos out there.
Make sure to clean the fans from the outlets with compressed air regularly. I do it every week - it can make temperatures rise back to 85C+
