Inspiron 16 Plus 7620, hinge broken

my hinge is broken on one side. i haven't dropped it or thrown it or anything that i can think of to cause it. a year ago a similar issue on the other hinge causing the screen to separate from the body. i don't take it out of my apartment just from the desk to the couch. 2 times and they insist that it is not a known issue and so therefore not covered under the warranty that i purchased. which is the one that covers everything except for accidental damage. this is the second time i'm going to be paying over $300 for damage that i don't believe i caused. how can i escalate or prove it's a problem with the product?

Neither we Forum Liaisons nor DELL-Cares team can overrule a policy decision made by a Dell Technical Support team. All you can do is continue discussion with the Dell Technical Support team pressing your opinion.

@DELL-ChrisM2 thanks for the reply.  i did speak to another support team member who agreed to credit back about half the charge, the labor portion i think.
