Inspiron 3501 USB type C

Hi,

I have recently purchased an Inspiron 3501 with the following configuration:

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz
1TB SSD

16GB RAM

Intel Iris Xe Graphics

NVIDIA GeForce MX330

My issue is that my Laptop has a USB-type C port but recognizes almost nothing. I tried connecting devices to it by every possible means but no luck.

Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Machine is brand new contact Dell for part refund/replacement.

Does the machine make any sound or notification when something is plugged in

Device manager has any devices with yellow marks, any changes in device manage when something is plugged in

@Hansana Adhikari

Machine is Brand new

Do not waste time troubleshooting

Backup any important data prior this step

This step will need an active internet connection

F12 > Support Assist OS Recovery > Skip > RESET > RESET and update.

This will wipe out factory installed operating system and download a new copy from Dell.

If this step doesn't fix the issue, contact Dell for Motherboard replacement.

This port is meant for Data Devices only. Doesn't support Video, monitors

What are you trying to plug

Hey!

I tried to connect an HDD and a Samsung Galaxy, but neither of them got detected by the PC.

No DM doesn't have any drivers marked with a yellow error symbol and also it makes a sound when some external device is plugged.

I have contacted DELL via WhatsApp and I think they are working on a service request.

And also I have uninstalled all the USB drivers and restarted the computer as well to reinstall the drivers but that didn't help me either. I think I have done all the possible troubleshooting steps.

Thank you very much!

I have already asked them for MB replacement and the ETA of it is on the 28th of October. Will wait and see.
