Inspiron 3537 SSD+ HDD

I have Inspiron 3537, 6GB/ 1TB HDD existing, I want to upgrade it with a WD 240GB SSD. I have bought a Caddy  which will take place of DVD Writer. I have installed 240 GB SSD in place of HDD,while i have installed the HDD in the caddy. I have installed OS in SSD ( At this moment caddy carrying HDD is not inserted in laptop). When I inserted it Caddy, it is showing in boot menu but it is not reading the disk.

Also the Vice-versa proceess was carried and it was found that the PC boots  only when single SSD  or HDD is inserted , then only laptop works fine. If inserted both , it doesn't works.

Note: There is No defect in Caddy.

Please Help

What's likely confusing the system is two active copies of Windows.  You cannot boot the system from the drive in the caddy -- the boot drive must be the internal one.  Clone to it, and before the first boot, swap the clone into the internal slot and leave the other one disconnected.  Once you have booted correctly, mount the original in the caddy and use it for whatever you'd like -- as long as it's a storage drive, not a boot drive.

I am not sure what you are doing exactly.

Use cloning software to clone 1 TB HDD to SSD. You will need some sort of USB-to-SATA adapter. You may need to take special steps since you are cloning from larger HDD to smaller SSD.

Good luck.

I have Successfully installed OS in my SSD which is inserted in internal slot. When the caddy is not inserted the system runs perfectly , But when I Try it with inserting caddy which contains HDD, the system Doesn't Show that HDD in the Disk management settings but it is showing the HDD in the boot menu. Please suggest solution for the same

That would be a compatibility issue and a question you'll need to ask of the adapter manufacturer.
