Inspiron 3567, shutdown, restart issues
I have a fairly new Inspiron 3567 (6 months old) running Windows 10. Laptop will not restart when I choose that option. Windows will shut down but laptop gets stuck on a black screen with the Dell logo. I then must power off and start up laptop to successfully reboot. Any suggestions?

Well, it did everything it was supposed to do. First I followed your instructions. It restarted, shutdown and started back up with no problem. Plugged mouse in and I was able to restart it again. Then plugged in ethernet cable and again it restarted properly. Shut it down, restarted it, turned it off and started up again all as it should.
Don't know what the problem was. Did I not wait long enough when restarting? Possibly. But, I'm not a computer newbie. I've owned computers for almost 30 years so I should know how to restart a computer. This issue seemed like a real issue. However, if there was a problem its no longer there. If there wasn't a problem then I learned that I have to be a little more patient.
Thanks for your time and your help. If it seems to reoccur I'll start another post.

* Click my DELL-username and via private message, send me the PC service tag number
* So for 6 months, it ran fine. What operating system, driver, software change did you make just prior to the issue appearing?
* Are you testing with the AC adapter plugged in?
* List every cable and device plugged into the laptop

* Get the laptop to turn off by pressing the power button
* Once off, disconnect the Logitech wireless mouse transmitter and the iPod sync cable. Leaving only the AC adapter connected
* Turn the laptop on
* Once into Windows, click Start- Turn Off Computer- Restart
* Once into Windows, click Start- Turn Off Computer- Turn Off
Does the laptop turn off correctly?

I had the same problem. I found this in another post and it worked for me
The solution, for me at least, was very simple and required a simple config option to be unticked.
In Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> Choose what the power buttons do, then under the Shutdown settings section, Untick the "Turn on fast startup (recommended)".
That's it! Apparently this setting is only used after a shutdown, so that is why after pressing the restart button it boots ok.
