Inspiron 3580, power button LED
I just received my Inspiron 3580 laptop back from service and the hard drive was replaced. I'm pretty sure the LED on the power switch worked when I originally got the machine (which I sent back for repair the next day because of the blue screen of death). At any rate is there some software fix or a driver solution? I finally have this set up the way I want it and I hate to send it back in but I also don't want a new machine that isn't acting as it should. I have two other very similar Inspiron and the power button has an LED that lights up when the units are on. Otherwise, there is no indication of whether it is sleeping or off.
Thanks for any ideas.

It could be Hibernating. Try pressing any key to wake it. If that works, it was sleeping. If it doesn't wake up try a brief press of the power button which will wake it from Hibernation. It takes longer and looks like it is rebooting, but all open windows will still be open. If you don't like using Hibernation which is the default setting, change the settings in Power Options, Advanced settings.

What other Inspiron models are you comparing to this Inspiron 3580? I see several Inspiron model threads (3542, 3543, 3558, 5459, 5557, 5559, 5589, 5759) where the customers are saying that the power button has never had light.
