Inspiron 3593 MaxxAudio Pro doesn't work

Hello everyone,

I have an Inspiron 3593 (i5 1035g1, 8gb ram, mx230 gpu) with all the latest drivers, bios and windows updates installed and since the very first day i got it (back in march iirc), I remember that i never managed to make the MaxxAudio app to actually function. What i mean is, that while i make adjustments to it (like the eq or bass and treble), they don't seem to actually have any effect. The same problem applies to both the internal speakers and to external headphones too.

So today i decided to actively try and fix it. I reinstalled the latest Realtek driver from Dell's site, did countless reboots and messed with every setting in the audio control panel. The problem is still there. However, i thought that it worthed to try again but without the realtek driver. So i uninstalled it through device manager, rebooted and used the microsoft driver. Voila! Suddenly Any adjustments made to Maxxaudio seem to actually have an effect (except eq but im not sure).

However, an other problem arose. The sound produced (both on speakers and headphones) sounded like it was recorded in a big empty room and no combination of adjustments seemed to fix it, other than disabling Maxxaudio. I noticed that inside the app in the output device drop menu, the speakers and the headphones were detected as headphones medium (im translating from greek here). I dont know if this has anything to do with it. Anyways, i proceeded to install again the realtek driver and it seems im back at the begging (the speakers and the headphones are detected correctly in Maxx as well). Gave a shot with the Support Assist app and the windows audio troubleshooter but to no avail. Digging around here i found this. I was wondering if after 2 years this is still the case.

Any help or info will be appreciated.
