Inspiron 3793 Power Button LED

Hi - I've recently purchased an Inspiron 3793 and noted that the LED on the power button does not illuminate. I've contacted Dell product support and they tell me that is by design. Well, I know enough about product design to be dangerous, but that doesn't make any sense to me. The button works fine and the unit powers up, but the slit/LED at the 12 o'clock position on the button doesn't illuminate - never has. Does that make sense? Is this by design?

It is.  There is no LED in the power button -- just the same way Apple has done it for years.

Just to save a couple of cents. You never know if laptop is on or off. No other led indicates this. so, you have to guess.
