Inspiron 5570 gpu crashing(?)
Spoiler
(reposting here because it seems that I didn't post in the right place before)
(reposting here because it seems that I didn't post in the right place before)
System model: Inspiron 5570
BIOS version: Dell Ic. 1.4.1, 24/12/2020
Problem: Display crashes during games. Everything freezes, I get a message about gpu restarting and program (game) having to close. Screen blacks out for about a sec, comes back and I get another error from radeon about graphics driver timeout.
I ran a dignostics from F12 and also a full test from the website. Everything passed.
All the x's are from when it crashed and its happening more frequently now..

Given the age of the system, it may be due for internal maintenance -- if it's never been thoroughly cleaned internally and had the thermal pads that interface between the CPU and GPU and respective heatsinks replaced, it's overdue for that.

That's unfortunate. I'll just give up on it then since it'd probably take a considerable amount of money to get that done. Would rather put it towards a PC. Thanks!

If you don't want to do it yourself, a local computer shop can do the maintenance for whatever an hour's labor costs in your area -- a new system is not necessary unless you're looking for more capability than the current one affords.

This is most likely because of the BIOS on the Inspiron 5570.
