Inspiron 5759 Possible Battery Issue...how to test?

My Inspiron 5759 may have a battery issue, I'm not sure how to test it.

Plugged in to my power, the battery indicator says "Fully Charged 100%." Yet, when I unplug the computer, the indicator drops immediately to zero and the computer shuts down.

One would expect, when plugging back in, the indicator to show no charge, but charging, but instead, it reads at 100% again.

How do I test to see if this is the battery or some other issue?

Thanks!

Yes,  it's been three months since I posted this issue...I've been very busy...sorry.

I ran the diagnostics selecting only the battery. I got a message that the device (battery) could not be found and that I should check for driver updates. I did so, got three updated drivers (none were for the battery), installed them, and the issue still happens. If I unplug the adapter, the computer immediately shuts off, as if there is no battery power. Yet, when the adapter is plugged in, the icon in the tray says "charging, 100%."

Is it time for a new battery before I test anything else?
