Inspiron 7380, loud noise when connected to the charger
I'm facing the same issue with an Inspiron 7380 which I bought on 9 March 2019, except that it happens every time when the charger is connected. The fan spins like crazy. Hope Dell will come up with a real solution.

have you been able to get this fan situation rectified? i just purchased a new DELL laptop `17" laptop with touch screen. updated BIOS drivers, unplugged power and fan noise went away. at 75% plugged back in and no noised until i got to 100% power and about 30 minutes active. something is triggering the fan when unit is plugged in and fully charged. i have had this laptop for 2 weeks.

Hey guys, i think i found a "solution", go to power option -> change plan settings -> change advanced power settings -> processor power management -> maximum processor state change it to 99%. But when you are gaming i suggest to turn back to 100%, and when you are only using the laptop for basic stuff turn back to 99%. You can create 2 plans, so you wont have to change everytime the %.

Thanks, DonS97. The solution works for my Precious 3541 after trying several (even 'scary') solutions. The noise immediate reduced right after I changed the maximum processor state.
In Windows 11, we can quicky access 'change advanced power settings' by searching "Edit Power Plan" in the search box.
