Inspiron 7559 screen replacement
I have an inspiron 7559 with the UHD touchscreen. I suspect the screen is cracked, it's leaking LCD fluid and starting to fuzz out. I want to replace it with a FHD screen but would like to know if I need to replace the entire LCD assembly or just a FHD screen replacement is required.
Reason for asking is to clarify what was mentioned in this other post,
"The UHD screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 and comes only with a touchscreen. You would need to change the entire LCD assembly."

See above. Yes, it's technically possible - but it's like replacing the screen on a cell phone. The odds of breaking the outer glass when removing it are very, very high - meaning you'll wind up having to replace the entire unit anyway. And even if you CAN get it apart, you then have to glue the assembly back together without creating a mess.
Translation: if you've done it before and are certain you know exactly what you're doing, you may get it to work. Practically speaking, replace the entire assembly. Odds are very high that's exactly what you'll wind up doing in the end anyway, either for aesthetic reasons or because you break the very flimsy outer glass in trying to pry it apart.
These assemblies are put together by a robot on an assembly line -- they're not designed to be easily repaired by human hands.

Though you'll find sellers with the individual components, the chances that you'll successfully get the assembly apart without breaking the touchscreen are slim to zero. Plan on replacing the entire assembly as a unit; the cover is fused to the assembly with adhesive.

For clarification purpose, are the screen and touchscreen separate devices? Does this mean it is possible to save the touchscreen while replacing just the broken UHD screen? I am planning to replace it with FHD screen as the UHD + touchscreen is very expensive to replace.

I haven't done it before, I'm thinking of taking it apart mainly due to the price of buying the entire assembly, it's quite pricey in my country. I'll try taking it apart in hopes to salvage what I can, if it doesn't work out it'll be a fun time anyway. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything in detail.

Had the same problem about the same time as the first entry on this subject. After contacting Dell they told me they no longer supported that product with parts. I took it upon myself to search for one and actually found one located in Poland. I purchase it and had it sent to me (great expense). I replaced the assembly and it had worked for approximately one year and now the same problem (leaking screen, adhesive) is occurring again. Chalk it up to poor design/ hardware I guess. Does anyone know where to find another replacement screen? Dell couldn't.

I have the same issue which is disappointing for Dell as a company.
So changing the full assembly it is possible to swith to a normal FHD screen? These are available

I know this is an old thread but I recently got an Inspiron 15 7559 with the same problem, after researching I came up with the hypotesis of using a 30 pin screen and rewiring the 30 pin connector to the 40 pin video cable, I researched for UHD touch screens and according to the datasheets the Lenovo yoga 5 matches the dell 40 pin connector (both are 40 pin). Now I will provide links for the datasheets so you can compare:
