Inspiron 7706 2n1 Compatible Pen?
Hi all,
Bought an Inspiron 7706 2n1 and really like it, but I cannot find a compatible pen for it which is annoying to say the least. I've read through several posts here and on other sites, as well as several other articles and they all say no, there isn't one. However, the Device Specs say otherwise, in that Pen and Touch is supported. (See below) So my question is, what pen, Dell or other, can I use for my machine?
Thanks for any help anyone can give (Dell?)

While the system can use a generic capacitive stylus (which stands in for your fingertip), bear in mind that it has only a touchscreen -- it does not have the active digitizer necessary to work with an active pen (i.e., the screen is not pressure-sensitive, so you won't be using it for precision drawing or writing).
Something like the linked item below will do the job.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-3-Pack-Executive-Touchscreen-Devices/dp/B00BIBQXCY/ref=sr_1_7_sspa?crid=1RF9L7RJ171J8&keywords=capacitive+stylus&qid=1647459912&sprefix=capacitive+stylus%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-7-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzS01DVE0xNzBUM0xUJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDMxOTEwMjBLTzJJNTRKREVYUyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMDI0NzczN1YwNU44NVk4TE1XJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfbXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
If what you were looking for is a precision drawing pen -- aka active pen -- you need a different system model with an active display panel, which in turn will limit you to 15" and smaller models (there aren't any Dell systems -- and as far as I know, none from other manufacturers either -- with active pen support at the 17" size).

I must say that I'm a little disappointed as I bought an active pen, as well, to go with my new Inspiron 7706. It was the pen that came up in the suggestions as I was purchasing the computer! I had no idea the Dell website would be suggesting I purchase a pen that isn't compatible with the computer I had chosen! It's being sent back tomorrow. I just received it today. Please get a pen that works with this 2in1 computer!

I purchased the PN7522W because it came up in my compatible accessories. Guess what! they lied. I love my computer. I am just sad to find out it cannot do all that I expected it could do. as far as my customer service experience, when I called, the man on the phone was rude and did not listen to what I was trying to tell him. When I did the messaging system, I got a wonderful person who went above and beyond only to find out that there is still no great stylus pen for this model. That makes me sad.

I got my new computer and I am extremely disappointed that this computer does not have a compatible active pen when the website suggests you to by one. Your claim was more than a year ago. I hope you guys may have any solution for this problem.

It's been a year and half and you still haven't done anything about this, Dell? The ad/description of my Inspiron 7706 2n1 said it was good for using with a stylus so you could write, draw, etc. The salesperson said the same. I've searched and searched for a stylus, tried many, but none work well enough to write and draw. I just spent over 2 hours with your people. At first they said the stylus I needed was not in stock. I asked the product's name so I could easily search again in a couple weeks as instructed. Then I'm told that no such stylus exists and I guess never did. When I inquired about an exchange, I was passed around to 3 different reps. The final person never picked up- I waited on hold for quite a while and then an automated survey started, asking how the sales rep had done. Well, they did horribly because they never answered and hung-up on me. And I still don't have a viable stylus. Dell, could you PLEASE *finally* resolve this? Even if the solution is me doing an exchange for a laptop that would absolutely, definitely, 100% work with a good stylus for writing and drawing?

@DELL-Cares it’s coming up on two years since Dell said they would work towards a resolution, and not even an update. You sold this product as being compatible for pen use in drawing and graphics. This was the main selling point for me. If I knew I was going to be tied to my desk with requiring a digitizer I would not have bought this with memory and graphics maxed out.
to learn that the only thing that can be used on this laptop is a dumb stylus with the precision of a finger is infuriating.
