Inspiron Mini 9 910
Hi all, I'm new to this group and looking for advice on an old Mini I bought which runs windows XP so that I can use it with a slide scanner system which requires XP. It came up with the following issues when setting-up:
ERROR 0271 Check Date & Time Setting
WARNING 0251 System CMOS Checksum Bad - Default Configuration Used
HDD Password Error Code 08609
Press F1 to resume, F2 to Setup
If you press F1 it says Enter HDD Password [ ] which I don't know. HDD Error Code 08609
You don't get a chance to press F2.
I(s this a basket case or is there any way to get it going? Any help much appreciated. Dell won't help.

Thanks JOcean. I will try that first. The manual doesn't seem to say what type of coin battery is required.

For starters on such an old system I would recommend replacing the CMOS battery. That seems to be the cause of more than one error. The instructions are here and it is a bit of a procedure.

Most Dell laptops have the same connector.
It looks like the length should not be that important.
