Installing a second ssd in a Dell G5 15 5500, missing bracket
I bought a new SSD to install in my laptop, since it has two SSD slots and only one of them is being used. The instructions for the second drive installation are here https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/g-series-15-5500-laptop_service-manual_en-us.pdf on pdf page 25 (Installing the 2280 solid-state drive in M.2 slot two). This requires a copper bracket because, as shown in the picture, the screw hole is further away and the drive can not be directly scrwed in. (typo because apparently that was a bad word. Even though it is appropriate in context)
However, because I ordered my laptop without this second slot populated, I do not have this bracket needed to install it. It's weird that in order to upgrade my laptop, I need to have already ordered the configuration that has a second drive, rendering the upgrade unnecessary. Does anyone know how to order this part specifically or if I can easily make one for my laptop?

I saw a similar thread about getting hardware to mount an M.2 SSD. It wasn't the same part as yours, but same problem. The user was back and forth many times with Dell trying to get the part and was never able to get it.
Best option would be if you are still in the return period, return it and buy the one with two SSD's. Otherwise see if you can fabricate something that will hold it.

This forum post and the post referenced in that post should help. I believe you can call Dell parts (link here) for the bracket.
