Intel Killer Performance Suite won't install

Hi, i have a G5 15 5500 laptop which has a killer wifi card, i keep getting prompted that there is a new version of Killer performance suite to install but every time i install it gives an error saying it cannot be installed because the wifi drivers are already installed.

I have a mess about uninstalling everything killer related and now its still similar, now when i try to install it now keeps uninstalling the original version of performance suite then installing the new one but after i restart my laptop the prompt still comes up saying it needs to update.

This is all from the intel driver update ulility.

There used to be a website that was killernetworking as it had all the apps and drivers to download but recently everytime you go to a killer software lik it just takes you to intlels website.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Regards

James

It is a little confusing right now since companies are changing hands.  What drivers work with which drivers may even depend on age of that device.  Maybe thy this one if you have not already done so.

Download Intel® Killer Performance Suite

You may want to uninstall the device and its drivers completely prior to reinstalling.  You don't mention which card you have and it might be helpful to know.

I had exactly this issue with my XPS 13 9305 where the Intel installer kept producing install-fail errors and would not install the update as notified by Intel Driver & Support Assistant.

The link you shared to the installer file worked perfecttly, thanks!

I had a horrible experience when version 3.1122.1105 Killer Performance Suite installed.
My internet started going down intermittently.  I did not realize it was the Killer Performance suite that was causing the problems, so I ended up troubleshooting the problem with my cable company then with Dell.  Dell ended up sending a technician out to replace my motherboard, but low and behold the problem did not go away.  Dell then got back on my computer and ended up removing the Killer software and it resolved the problem immediately.

I had the same issue today on 2 Dell XPS 8940 after updating the Intel Killer Performance suite to latest version 40.25.1125.1924, Intel DSA keeps asking for the same update.

Note that I did not have any issues on DELL XPS 8930, only on DELL XPS 8940. Problem was happening with any different Windows 11 Builds, insider and public. (IE: 26200.7462, 26220.7523, 28020.1362)

To work around the problem, I had to remove the update and reinstall it and make sure that the Killer App was also updated from the Microsoft store. After reinstalling a rebooting, I had to use the refresh on intel DSA to finally show up to date.

@DELL-Cares I tried so many times. I cannot get mine to work. Attached is my error message and my PC information. Primarily, my issue is that I cannot make or receive phone calls on my Alienware M17 R3 Laptop (which has the Phone Link app) using my Samsung S25 Ultra (which has the Link to Windows app). Through EVERYTHING I have researched, I found this is a known issue where I need to install a specific driver for the BT adaptor and a separate specific driver for the WIFI adaptor instead of the generic ones that come pre-installed. How can this be resolved? I also included the picture of the Killer Performance Suite that has the updated drivers I need, but I keep receiving error code 1603 (which is also a well known error code I am finding). PLEASE help.

I have a similar issue. The Intel Driver Support Assistant tells me I have one update, but I get the error below:

Intel® Killer™ Performance Suite

Installation failed with error code 1603

I have a XPS 8940 Desktop, and during the update, I see the message: Killer Performance Driver Suite UWD cannot be installed with Killer Performance Suite. The log shows error 2723: Directory Manager not installed.

@Biffo100 I solved my issue by removing the Killer Services and Drivers and doing a clean install.

Used a three‑stage purge and rebuild:

Stage A — Remove Killer Software

  • Uninstall Killer Control Center

  • Uninstall Killer Intelligence Center

  • Uninstall Killer Performance Suite

  • Remove all Killer services

  • Remove Killer network filters from:

    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ndisuio

    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netwtw10 (Intel Wi‑Fi)

    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\e2filt (Killer filter)

Stage B — Device Manager Cleanup

  • Expand Network Adapters

  • Uninstall AX1650/AX201

  • Repeat until Windows has no Killer‑branded INF packages left

Stage C — Install Clean Intel Drivers

Used Intel‑only package, not Dell’s repackaged version to install:

  • Intel Wi‑Fi Driver (AX201/AX1650)

  • Intel Bluetooth Driver

This now allowed me to use the Intel Driver Update utility to install the update. I have some technical ability, and this process was of moderate difficulty. One issue I found was that Windows 11 has a tendency to try to reinstall services/drivers as you go through the process, so you have to check that processes you removed are not reinstalled when you reboot (and you have to do multiple reboots). If you are a novice, I suggest using Microsoft Co-Pilot to check your specific hardware and get a list to complete at each stage of the process. If you use Co-Pilot, copy the instructions to a Word or similar document and save, so when you reboot, you can open the saved document and continue the steps without going back to Co-Pilot.

One correction: In Stage B and Stage C, remove and reinstall the appropriate Intel Wi-Fi Driver for your hardware. Mine was the AX201/AX1650 wi-fi driver, so be sure to check yours.

@Biffo100 After performing Stages A-C above (Me, I would alter my Stages B&C for my specific driver requirements as you suggested), you were able to successfully get Phone Link / Link to Windows to allow you to make calls from your computer?
