Lap doesn't recognize speaker an mic; headphones work
My Inspiron 15 3505's speaker suddenly stopped working. (I'm running Windows 10.) I tried uninstalling the device and rebooting; the driver showed up, but the laptop still doesn't recognize either the speaker or the mic. (Neither one appears in the sound device listing in Settings.) It does recognize my headphones, and they work. There are no hardware or software changes to the system beyond the aforementioned uninstall and reboot. Any ideas of what went wrong and how I can fix it?

AdrianG001, I ran the troubleshooter, but it couldn't find the problem. Note that "Settings" now detects the mic.

Click Start and select Settings (gear icon). Click Update & Security and select Troubleshoot. Click Recording Audio and then click Run the troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process
