Run a screen test -- hold the D key through powerup.  Does the same fault appear?

It sounds like the display needs to be replaced.

The laptop LCD is the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard and runs through the hinge.

Opening and closing will bend the cable and damage it over time.

Usually, when the LCD cable breaks, it stops transmitting data to the screen. In such cases, the LCD shows only backlighting, which means that the screen still glows, but there is no image.

The screen remains white or gray because no data is sent to the LCD screen.

In that case, the external monitor must display an image.

A broken LCD cable can cause a weak or dark screen.

Moving, shaky or blurry pictures are also common symptoms of a broken LCD cable.

It is difficult to determine whether the display is the problem or an LCD cable problem as long as no parts are swapped, or testing tools are used.

If the LCD cable of the screen is broken, the backlight will usually turn off randomly, dim, or sometimes strange colored lines appear on the screen when you open the laptop at a certain angle.

Even if you are extremely careful with your DELL Laptop, sometimes it can be unavoidable to run into problems.

Symptoms of a defective HP LCD Cable.

  • White image.
  • Black screen.
  • Moving, shaky or blurry image.
  • Stripes on laptop LCD.
  • LCD lighting suddenly dims or disappears.
  • The screen only works if the laptop is partially open
  • View when using your laptop in a certain position.

Unforutunately my screen is not showing anything anymore but  the laptop is still working. I know it because i can hear the notification sound. I tap the space bar and it automatically sign in caz i don't have password. And when i plug in the mouse i can hear the sound but no image on screen just black.it only shows white screen on reboot now. It's white but when i tap the space bar(the deafult option in reboot is continue to window) its goes into window 10 and as soon as it go to window 10 the screen is black.

This is my display (built-in laptop; lower image).  The upper display is connected to the HDMI and looks fine.  What is likely causing this display to look like it's running in 16 colors or something?  It's not a driver issue, that I can tell, because I already removed all the Intel drivers (it uses Intel HD Graphics 4400), til it simply said "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" and the image looked exactly the same.  How can the HDMI output look fine, if it were a driver issue?  Other desktop wallpaper images (like the lake and the beach cave, etc.) look almost fine, but this Windows 10 logo wallpaper looks all funky and washed out and weird.  Yet the HDMI output displays it fine.
