Lcd laptop problem

I have a problem with my lcd laptop. When i not plug in my hdmi cable or using external monitor, my lcd laptop will going crazy like wrong colour display or distorted screen and my laptop will freezing to, i can't do anything. When i try to plug in the external monitor, my external monitor not detect anything. But if i plug in to my external monitor there is no problem. Idk how to fix it. Hopefully someone can help me
