Yes, it is.  Outside of LG, Samsung and Lenovo (which make at least some systems in Korea and, in the case of Lenovo, North Carolina), just about all other notebooks are made in China.

Does it matter where the PC is assembled? All or most of the parts are imported even if its assembled here. I can remember back when the US was a leader in TV manufacturing, and other consumer tech. My Dad refused to buy a TV not made in America it was a sin to not support a American company. Now days, good luck finding any tech company that builds products that don't come from Asia, Korea, India or somewhere but the US. Like automobiles you won't find one that doesn't have parts that originated from many parts of the world.
