Motherboard replacement

Hello,

I was gifted a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series 5570 laptop that was my grandmother's when I said I was planning to buy a new one for school.

Here are the current specs:

Intel i3-8130U CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz

12.0 GB Ram

64-bit, x64-based processor

Touch screen. 

1T HDD 

I planned on upgrading ram to Crucial 32GB (16GBx2) DDR4 2666 MT/s, hard drive to Samsung 860 EVO SSD M.2 SATA 1T SSD, and upgrading the WLAN chip to Intel8260 NGW (as the chip in it has given me problems).

• The i3 CPU is too slow for my schooling and part time video editing. I have an interest in learning some computer repair and was wondering about buying the 5570 motherboard with i7 CPU and swapping them when I upgrade the ram and harddrive. This is cheaper for me than buying a new laptop, and after watching videos, looks like a job I could handle doing the work of, but the technical aspect I am unsure. Is it possible to just swap out motherboards with a higher CPU if it's from the same Dell 15 5570 series?

I can still buy a new one like I had planned if I totally messed it up, but would much rather save the money. And, I would really like to learn in the process.

Would I need to replace everything at once, or do certain parts in a specific order?
