Multiple issues with my Inspiron 5379
My laptop speed is not good though I am doing basic work in it. It takes a lot of time to shut down and restart again. Some colors display sometime and mouse cursor does not respond or even hide from the screen. the mouse pad is not working properly. I purchased this 2 months back and didn't expect these type of problems from DELL laptop.

Even I have the same problems, additionally sudden appearance of some vertical lines colored, sound and mouse stops working on restart only mouce works, again in less than ten minutes, Same problem again. Lower lane letters also don't properly function. New system, very sparingly used. Dell is requested to responsibly attend the same ;
Eve heating problem too much with this System

Startup/shutdown speeds can be improved by upgrading your hard drive to a solid state drive.
What do you mean by "some colors display sometimes"?
Not sure what can be affecting the touch pad. Have you tried attaching an external mouse?
