N5010 ram slot problem

Hi

I have two identical n5010 laptops, 4 years ago one of these laptops had a ram slot issue, when i install a ram in this slot the system cant boot, the screen stays black, no inspiron logo appears. 

I tried to swap the motherboard since the defected laptop is with higher processor (core i5), unfortunately, when i pressed the power button, i faced the same old problem, the slot is defected too. 

Is there any way to verify if it is a software matter or hardware problem? Is fixable?
