OS Recovery Tool stops with error while extracting image file

Running Dell OS Recovery Tool version 2.3.7010/Build 7010

Steps performed.

1. Selected step 1 this computer, clicked on next

2. Selected USB drive from drop down list, ticked 'I understand that the selected drive will be formatted and existing data will be deleted', clicked on DOWNLOAD button

3. Step 3 downloads and verifies image, extraction of ISO starts  then after 10 minutes I get the following error

Stops at step 3.

 

Repeated with different USB port, admin privileges start app with admin privileges

It looks like you may be in the wrong forum but which OS and how large is the USB drive?

If the USB drive is configured, can you mount the .iso file and copy over the files?

Since I can't run the recovery tool you reference, are you trying to create something like a Win 10 Recovery drive?   This can be used to return a system top the factory specs. depending on how old the system is and if it hasn't been modified and still has all the Dell partitions.

If you haven't tried, the Win 10 version actually creates the image of your current Win 10 install.  You could try that for testing the operation.
