problem with wireless signal 14z 5423
I've been having a problem with my wireless signal. 14 z 5423 #1 gets 1 bar 14z 5423 #2 setting right next to it gets four. I thought maybe it was the wireless antenna so I plugged in a USB wifi thing and disabled the on board adapter.
Same problem.
Any ideas ?

After posting on the forum..I wish. More than likely it may have been a problem with the antenna connection and by checking the security of the connection you fixed it. Or alternatively it may have been a band issue or interference of some type from another source.

You can open the laptop with bad signals and visually check the antenna leads. Make sure they have proper connection. Loose contact may have been the reason for bad signals reception.
Update the wi-fi driver if available.

I did open it up and checked the antenna connections. They are tight. I tried to update the driver and was told mine is up to date. Also I found I am still using the dell wireless the usb device was not working.

Have you tried making sure that the USB adapter drivers have been installed and then disable the Dell adapter in Device Manager.

I was going to work on that but this morning I am getting 4 bars with the Dell adapter. Do these things just fix themselves after posting on this forum?
