Replacing battery on a 7567?

Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567

Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567

I have an Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567, a couple months shy of 5 years old at this point, that recently began displaying a message stating that the battery could no longer provide sufficient power and needs to be replaced. Removing the bottom panel revealed that it's swollen in several places. The address on the popup, dell.com/batteries, doesn't work, the part number printed on it-- 357F9-- has no results on Dell.com, and Dell Support says they don't sell the part any more.

I sourced a replacement battery locally at Micro Center, but now a message flashes on boot saying that the battery can't be identified and won't be charged, As stated, it does not charge. Is there any way to bypass this?

Not without a recognized battery, no -- return to the store and exchange the battery for  a working one.

I looked at that one, but it;s 11.1v vs the original's 11.4v. I got this one that's 11.4v, but in the OS the laptop is listed as unidentifiable and in the OS as "not a Dell battery", so I'm concerned other third-party options will have the same issue unless there's a way to bypass the warning.

Thanks though, I may end up giving that a try if I can't get this one to work.
