Sound not working

Question

I am getting 'No output devices found' and 'No input devices found' in my settings for my computer.  I have tried using the troubleshoot option.  I have downloaded the latest drivers, it still cannot detect my computer's speakers and microphone.  When I plug in my headset, the sound is fine.  I would like it to work without my headset as well.  Can you help?
