Stuck 144hz refresh rate

Hello I recently bought a G7 7790 17 with an RTX 2070 Max-Q and an intel UHD 630 integrated chip. I am trying to change the refresh rate to 60hz but it is stuck at 144hz.

In the manual it says it supports 60hz, but I have been unable to change it.

Updated all the drivers, including bios and chipset changed nothing.

Halp!

I wanna play Knights of the Old Republic on my 2019 laptop ahahah

In Windows Display Settings, click something like “Advanced graphics properties” to open a dialog window. In there see if you have a “List All Modes” button that reveals other refresh rates. Otherwise, check Intel Graphics Control Panel or NVIDIA Control Panel. Often their display setup options will be more extensive than what’s shown in Windows. The GPU whose control panel you have to check will depend on which GPU has direct control of the display output you’re using. It will probably be the Intel GPU.

I have the same problem with an Alienware m17 R2, there is no other option than 144hz in the windows menu and in the intel graphics command center.

I already installed the latest intel drivers and the is no change.

What monitor are you trying to set up -- an external (which can be changed to 60 Hz) or the internal display panel (which is fixed at whatever frequency for which it's designed;  probably 144 Hz)?
