Stuck at updating bios
So i tried updating my inspiron 7566 and then it froze. The flash progress is at 100% and it froze there. I couldn't shut my laptop down and i don't know what to do.
No Events found!

I also have same problem today on Inspiron 15 3593, Support Assist happily downloads BIOS update to version 1.9.1 (updating from 1.8..) but then when trying to install just sits there doing nothing. After cancelling (after 30 minutes ..) 1.8 still there. Machine still runs but...
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Support Assist cannot install bios updates. You must manually download and install the bios update yourself. A bios update is done outside of windows. There are directions on the download site.

Many thanks, now sorted. Updated BIOS on new laptop I asked about & also old laptop (5+ yrs old) being replaced.
Apologies but I started with computers early 1960's (English Electric KDF9..

my solution: i couldnt shout it down by holding the power button, so i just waited till the battery discharge and i plug it in again and it turned on with updated bios

Hi, I also face the same problem while updating the system BIOS and got freeze for 11 hours, I can’t press the shutdown button and I unplug the ac adapter and have to wait until my laptop battery is empty..
