Stuck in preparing automatic repair
Dear Sir, I have dell inspiron 15. It had a problem earlier today whenever we started the computer. The computer shows the blue circle of loading after showing the dell symbol after restarting the computer. We then press f12 to run diagnostic and found no hardware are bad. We then press f2 and on the general tab —> system we ask it to load default. We restarted the computer and the computer is showing the “preparing automatic repair” for more than 1 hour now. Please advise what we should do.
thanks

Start with an extended hard drive (or SSD) diagnostic -- you're very likely to find a failing drive.
F12 at powerup to access the diagnostics.

Apologies for an unpleasant experience with the new laptop. Please share the exact model of the system as there are various model available for Dell Inspiron 15R and operating system installed. Also, run diagnostics on the system to confirm hardware functionality. Here are the steps:

In my case there wasn't any error found in diagnostics. But it's still stuck in restarting.

I have an Inspiron 5767 with the same issue. I've tried:
F2 and restored boot process
F12: Results:
"ePSA 4306.12 - Alert", ERROR: Battery at end of life (should be fine as it is plugged in)
Ran Hard Drive test "ePSA 4306.12 - Success"
Upon Exit and reboot, I get Dell Screen (circle), loading percolating dots-circle and ....stuck......

The same thing is happening to mine that I got just last July. So frustrating. It’s just stuck in preparing automatic repair. Diagnostics said there are not any issues. Did anyone have a good outcome? I’m just letting it run forever on preparing automatic repair.

It seems like this is just a great way for them to have you purchase a warranty. My warranty ended a month ago, and surprised I have a problem with the computer. "preparing automatic repair." Now I can't get to my tax preparation information and I have less than a week to complete my return. So please provide the help I just paid an extra $319.67 for. I wish I weren't so desperate! #riggedgame

@DELL-Cares Dell Inspiron 7506 2n1 gets stuck on Dell logo screen when booting up. After 3 restarts, Dell Logo / Preparing Automatic Repair screen is displayed for 5-6 minutes, then displays a blue screen w/ 2D barcode stating "We ran into a problem and will restart your computer". Ran Quick Test and Advanced Test and all tests pass with no errors(<Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin>| Result Code 2000-0000 | Validation Code 122047). Have opened bottom cover, disconnected battery, disconnected / reconnected SSD drive, disconnected / reconnected RAM, reconnected battery. Reran Quick and Advanced Test and all tests again pass w/ no errors.
