swap hdd with ssd
I have an Inspiron 17 7000 series running Windows 10. I bought it new years ago, and it came with a 1TB HDD. Will the Inspiron 7000 models accept an SSD in place of the HDD? Or, even better, is there room in this laptop for both? I'd love a much faster boot up, but not sure I want to replace the 1TB HDD with a 1TB SSD due to the cost. But if I could just add a smaller SSD as a boot drive, I'm good with that.
If it's possible to add the SSD, what size would you recommend if I just wanted to use it as a boot drive?
Are there videos out there for this particular laptop that would help walk me through this?
Are there particular brands of SSD you guys would recommend?
Other computer specs:
- Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.50 GHz 2.00 GHz
- 16.0 GB RAM
- 64 bit Operating System, x64-based processor
- touch support
Thanks!

There are multiple models in this series, but the CPU points toward it being an Inspiron 7737. If that's the case (check the setup screen or the label on the bottom of the system), it will take only one 2.5" internal drive, so replacing the internal hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD is your only option.
If you need the added space and don't need the optical drive, you can remove that and replace it with a caddy that will allow the hard drive to be used as storage (but not boot) in the system. These are third-party devices.
For long-term use as a windows drive, you'll want 256G as bare minimum - 512 or more better.
