USB keyboard and mouse suddenly stops working

The USB keyboard and mouse suddenly stops working while I am playing games or using my laptop, Windows 10 (updated), Dell Inspiron 3542.

(Internal mouse trackpad and keyboard works normally)

I checked drivers in device manager, but it says that I have the latest version of drivers. Both keyboard and mouse stop working at the same time and a notification sound rings (the ejection sound).

When I check in device manager, both the mouse and the keyboard are listed under their particular category.

Mouse light keeps burning but the keyboard lights go off. When I plugged the keyboard into another port, it started working. But the same did not work for the mouse.

The only solution is to restart the laptop by pressing and holding the power button.

Can anyone please tell me how do I fix this?
