Where is Microphone

My DELL Inspiron 5575 has been replaced with a later model = Model Inspiron 5593.

I have set up Skype but the microphone will not work, I am assuming that the PC has a built in microphone, how do I switch the microphone on or check it.

To get this information you need to log on to support, enter your model number and most importantly Enter your Service Tag Number.

That will open all the hardware information on your Particular notebook, You should download and read your Service Manual there you will find out how to open your notebook

Service Manual will show you where everything is Physically

Right-click on the Sound icon I the notification area taskbar should give you sound options including Microphone.

Whatever sound card you may have, may have its own software you'll find that programs?

you should edit this post and remove your Service tag number never post that someone could use it to take ownership of your notebook. only send to someone In a private message PM only.

Having tested microphone on PC it says cannot detect any fault. I have checked on speaker and microphone settings and they are set OK for volume.

When running Skype I check on audio settings and both inbuilt and external microphones show as working but on doing Skype test I receive skypes voice but not my voice via any of the two microphones which leads me to suspect the fault may lay with skype settings, if I have missed something please advise. Is there a way to speak into PC microphone and hear it through PC speakers?
