Will upgrading RAM void warranty?

Question

I bought the Inspiron 16 7610 laptop with 4-yr premium warranty (3-and -1/2 yr still left) for my daughter's art major classes, and her Adobe premier program is freezing up while doing heavy video rendering work. Her professor suggested she upgrade the 16GB RAM to 32GB, and I can get a 16GB RAM stick for under $130. My question is: will this upgrade void the 4-yr warranty?

No, Dell has indicated that upgrading RAM or drive will not invalidate the warranty. However:

your warranty won't cover anything that you install;
if you need warranty repairs, Dell might request that you reinstall the original components;
any damage you cause while inside your laptop is on you, the warranty won't cover it.

Follow the disassembly and reassembly steps in Dell's Service Manual.
Look on YouTube for videos showing disassembly of your model. But, be cautious with them, as some use steps or methods that are not appropriate. Use the videos to add to your understanding of what to do, but follow the steps in Dell's manual.

Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. It's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard.

Re. amount of RAM: your current 16 GB may be two x 8 GB sticks. So, to upgrade to 32 GB you would need to buy a matched pair of two x 16 GB sticks and install them after removing the current pair. Windows Task Manager can tell you if both slots are currently filled.
